Laying Aside Every Weight

I'm so excited about a class I just stared at church called "Laying Aside Every Weight" based in Hebrews 12:1-2.  I've got some catching up to do, as I missed the first week of class, but we're discussing - and practicing - the Biblical way to truly lay aside all weights in our lives: physical AND spiritual!
God has told us to "present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God" (Romans 12).  And Paul, the Apostle, said he always keeps his body under, meaning he takes control of his body, rather than let his body control  him.  This takes a serious amount of discipline!  I'm excited to train myself to be more in line with the Word of God, and turn my thinking from a negative self-image to a positive one!

I hope to be checking in here more often and sharing my progress.  I know how desperately I need to be held accountable for my actions!  I do so many things already, I do need to find a place to keep them all organized, and this seems like a good place to do it.

Let me just start by laying it all out on the table - I'll organize later!
*I am a single mom of a first grade son, and I'm as active as I can be in his school progress.  We've had some ups and downs there, but it seems that at least he is having good success this year!
*I work a full time job as a Lead Toddler Teacher in a Christian Preschool.  I LOVE my job!
*I also work a part time business from home to help cushion the income in our house.  I love my home business mostly because I love living healthy and helping others do the same.  I imagine this class at church will just help me even more in my business!  Praise God - He brings all things together for the good of those who love Him.
*I am a strong, spirit-filled believer in Jesus Christ and attend three church services a week.  I am also active in the nurseries at church as a lead caregiver, and now have hooked up with a life group (the "weight loss" class I mentioned earlier).
*We are currently in the middle of PAL football season - which means 2 practices a week and games on Sat mornings.  I love watching my lil running back fly across the field!  It blesses me so much that my son and I have finally found something we both truly enjoy!  My son also takes a dance class once a week and has therapy weekly as well.  He keeps my evenings busy!

So, my first task is to organize my life so I can keep it all running smoothly!  I will list out my goals, and write them in a future post.

Thanks for reading!
